Margaret River is generally at the top of the list for most weekenders and for good reason. Our state treasure showcases some of the very best in local produce, beaches, forests and wine. Even if the weather can turn relatively quickly, it’s best to pack for any temperature. A combination of long stretches of coastline and epic sand dunes, Lancelin is perfect for the adrenaline-fueled family trip. If you can get your hands on a 4W drive, take to the back beach and experience sand boarding or try your hands at windsurfing. Ohh and the bakery. We can’t forget this not so hidden gem. Make sure you get a chance to savour pastries made by the locals over a coffee or choc milk for the kids. Jurien Bay
If you are on route to visit the lunar-like Pinnacles – Jurien Bay and Cervantes are a logical next stop. While in town, a visit to the marina will provide an opportunity for you and the family or special someone to get up close and personal with Australian sea lions. In the afternoon we recommend a fish from the beach or jump on board a large number of crayfish boats to see how the pros do it.

Swan Valley
On the outskirts of Perth – the Swan Valley region is perfect for either a Perth getaway for the weekend or day trip. For those looking for a boozy lunch with top beer and wine, look no further than Elmars. If you manage to time your run right, you may even catch the Hot Dub Wine Machine festival.
