APPLICATION IN. HERE'S WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.

Nothing more is needed from you right now. If a licence or a copy of your trade papers isn't on hand, you can start chasing it today.

Hiring Process

THE NEXT THREE STEPS

1

We Review Your Application

Our workshop manager reads every application that comes in. Expect to hear from us within a few business days.

2

We Give You a Call

A short phone chat about your trade background, the vehicles you've worked on, and the tools and systems you know.

3

You See the Workshop

Come to Welshpool, walk the floor, and meet the team. Most candidates go from application to offer within two weeks.

Prerequisites

WHAT YOU'LL NEED, AND WHERE TO GET IT

The first two items are firm requirements. The third is a set of preferences — worth mentioning in your application, but not a gate you have to pass.

Heavy-Duty Diesel Trade Qualification

Required — minimum 3 years qualified

The role calls for at least three years' work as a qualified heavy-duty diesel mechanic. We're looking for the trade certificate plus the years behind it, because you'll be diagnosing faults and rebuilding engines without someone checking each step.

Where to get it

If you trained in Australia, your trade certificate came from your registered training organisation — TAFE or a private RTO — and they can reissue a copy if you've lost it. If you qualified overseas, send us the documents you do have and we'll work through what else is needed rather than guessing at it.

HR Licence or Greater

Required before your first shift

You'll be moving buses around the yard and road-testing them after a repair, so an HR class licence is the floor. Anything above it is welcome.

Where to get it

Licences and class upgrades go through the WA Department of Transport, which sets the holding periods, assessments, medical requirements, and fees for each class. Their licensing section is the place to start.

Bus, Coach, and Diagnostics Experience

Preferred, not required

Experience on buses and coaches is preferred, dual-trade technicians are highly regarded, and diagnostics software experience counts in your favour. None of these decide an application on their own.

Where to get it

Nothing to obtain here. Just make sure your application names the vehicle types you've worked on, any second trade you hold, and the diagnostics systems you've used — those details are easy to miss on a resume and they matter to us.

Getting It to Us

HOW TO SEND YOUR DOCUMENTS

Bring your trade papers and licence when you visit the workshop, or call us on (08) 9351 8980 and we'll tell you the easiest way to get copies across.

If a document is still being reissued, that's fine — let us know where it's at so we can plan your start around it.
