Hiring Process
THE NEXT THREE STEPS
We Review Your Application
Our team reads every application that comes in. Expect to hear from us within a few business days.
We Give You a Call
A short phone chat about your licence, your availability, and the kind of shifts you're after. No test, no pressure.
You Come In and Drive
A trial shift at the Welshpool depot so you can meet the team and see the vehicles. Most candidates go from application to offer within two weeks.
Prerequisites
WHAT YOU'LL NEED, AND WHERE TO GET IT
Every item below has to be in place before your first shift. All three are issued by WA government agencies, so the requirements and fees are theirs — we just need to sight the paperwork.
Working with Children Check
Required before your first shift
Our drivers carry students on school and campus runs, so a current Working with Children clearance card is a condition of the role. It's a criminal record check with ongoing monitoring, and the Department of Communities sets the fee, the processing time, and how long a card stays valid.
Where to get it
Apply through the WA Department of Communities. Their Working with Children Check page sets out who needs one, the identity documents to bring, the current fee, and how to lodge an application.
WA Department of Communities(opens in a new tab)Passenger Transport Driver Authorisation
Required before your first shift
A heavy vehicle licence on its own doesn't let you carry paying passengers. A passenger transport driver (PTD) authorisation is the approval that does, and it's what we have to sight before you drive for us.
Where to get it
The WA Department of Transport issues it, and it is renewed annually. Start on their passenger transport driver page, which covers what the authorisation requires. Requirements, medical checks, and fees are set by the Department, not by us.
WA Department of Transport — Passenger transport drivers(opens in a new tab)MR or HR Driver's Licence
Required before your first shift
You'll need an MR or HR class licence to drive our buses. If you're on a car licence now, you'll be upgrading a class before the authorisation above applies to you.
Where to get it
Licence upgrades also go through the WA Department of Transport, which sets the holding periods, assessments, and medical requirements for each class. If you already hold the licence but not the authorisation, apply to us anyway — we'll point you in the right direction.

HOW TO SEND YOUR DOCUMENTS
Bring the originals to your trial shift, or call us on (08) 9351 8980 and we'll tell you the easiest way to get copies across.
If something is still in progress, that's fine — let us know where it's at so we can plan your start around it.
